POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Mark your calendar for the third annual Dutchess Dragon Boat Race & Festival, Saturday, July 23 on the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie.

Join or watch the spectacle the colorful race, a benefit for two organizations, Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and Arts Mid-Hudson. The associated Asian Cultural Festival offers food, music, dancing and kids' games.

Men and women, teenagers, beginners, and spectators of all ages can enjoy a day of friendly competition and get some easy exercise with friends.

The event sponsor is Dutchess County Tourism.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hudson River Rowing Association (HRRA) Community Boathouse dock, 270-272 N. Water St., Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
